Sunderesh S. Heragu is an accomplished academic leader, educator, and researcher with experience in industrial engineering, manufacturing process improvement, and logistics. He is a senior advisor to Dean in the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology at Oklahoma State University (OSU), where he also served as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Head of the School of Industrial Engineering and Management, and holds the prestigious positions of Regents Professor and John Hendrix Chair. He is President-elect of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE), the largest professional society dedicated to the advancement of industrial engineering. He has authored a widely used textbook on facilities design, as well as multiple articles in journals and conferences. He is a Fellow of both IISE, the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) and the World Academy of Productivity Science. He is the first person to have received pinnacle awards in education, research, and service from IISE. He has received several other awards and honors for his contributions to the field, including a lifetime achievement award from MHI. He is passionate about advancing the knowledge and practice of industrial engineering and logistics, and inspiring the next generation of engineers and innovators.
