UK retailer TK Maxx and Homesense have recalled two beauty products over safety risks.

The Byblos Blu Happy Hour eau de toilette includes a European-banned ingredient, and the Erth Beauty Hair Revitalize Steamer Cap’s fuse does not meet safety standards.

Both items can be returned to any TK Maxx or Homesense store for a full refund.

Byblos Blu Happy Hour eau de toilette with the product codes 898365, 898370, and 898378 are included in the recall. These lots were sold in stores between January and March of 2025.

This fragrance includes Hydroxyisohexyl 3-cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, also known as Lyral or HICC, a synthetic fragrance.

This ingredient has been banned in cosmetics products in Europe since August 2021 as it was identified as a potential skin sensitiser that can cause allergic reactions.

A separate recall notice was issued by Homesense for the Erth Beauty Hair Revitalize Steamer Cap.

The device was sold between January and April this year and has the product number ZT-A.

Eclat Cosmetic, the maker of the device, has recalled it over concerns it could cause electric shock or fire as the plug’s fuse does not meet the required safety standards.
