Penhaligon’s The Cut fragrance launches today—and the new eau de parfum by the British fragrance house looks “dressed” for fall. The fragrance, in a glass bottle, features a label with a plaid print. It’s in a matching plaid carton.

The launch coincides with the start of London Fashion Week, and the timing was intentional. “The Cut is the perfect symbol of the growing relationship between fine fragrance and high fashion,” the brand states. “The fragrance is reflective of the spirit of creativity, innovation and artistry found in all forms of fashion.”

A Nod to Saville Row

Penhaligon’s The Cut fragrance is in an elegant glass bottle. A stylish brown-and-tan plaid pattern adorns the bottle’s label. A Saville Row suit inspired the packaging’s look.

“The Cut is a celebration of the impeccable tailoring traditions of Savile Row,” the brand states. The press release continues, “The fragrance is a daring take on a fougère paying homage to the cutting-edge fashion and artistry of London’s most iconic sartorial street.”

The package design features the same attention to detail that marks the craftsmanship of Saville Row tailoring. A bow adorns the bottle’s cap, which is accented with a gold collar. The carton features the image of a threaded needle.

The Fragrance is a ‘Daring Take on a Fougère’

Created by Paul Guerlain, Penhaligon’s The Cut fragrance is “a daring take on a classic fougère,” the brand says. It opens with mint and basil; balanced by the earthy, woody depth of cypress; with fir balsam woven through the composition.

Further describing the juice, the press statement says, “The Cut reimagines the traditional fougère, blending mint, cypress, and fir balsam to create a fragrance that’s both sharp and elegant.”
