Legendary Italian fashion designer and brand owner Giorgio Armani died at the age of 91.

Armani launched his fashion label in 1975 and, since then, has expanded into beauty, fragrance, music, sport, and even luxury hotels.

The Armani Group made an Instagram announcement, commenting,

“Indefatigable to the end, he worked until his final days, dedicating himself to the company, the collections, and the many ongoing and future projects.”

According to the announcement, Armani “passed away serenely, surrounded by his loved ones.”

Over the years, Giorgio Armani has crafted a vision that expanded from fashion to every aspect of life, anticipating the times with extraordinary clarity and pragmatism… Giorgio Armani is a company with fifty years of history, built with emotion and patience. Giorgio Armani always made independence – of thought and action – his hallmark. The company is, now and always, a reflection of this spirit.”

Recently, Armani Beauty (owned by L’Oreal) partnered with Italian supplier, Bormioli Luigi to create the bottle for the brand’s Acqua di Giò Elixir. The black, rounded square bottle was inspired by an obsidian stone.

This past year, the brand also tapped Nicholas Galitzine as its newest Global Fragrance Ambassador for “The Idea of You” campaign. This campaign highlighted the Stronger With You Parfum.
