CIBS announces Liana Cook as its 78th President—an appointment rich with both professional significance and heartfelt family legacy.

Cook follows in the footsteps of her father, Charles Marchese, who served as President in 2010, making this moment a true continuation of a family story deeply intertwined in the beauty and cosmetic packaging world.

“I am honored, grateful, and so excited for the year ahead,” Cook shared, extending thanks to her family, mentors, and the entire CIBS community for their encouragement and support.

As CIBS President, Cook plans to put membership front and center. She intends to spotlight members and their stories, actively gather feedback after events, and ensure the organization continues to evolve while honoring nearly eight decades of tradition. Her vision is one of collaboration, fresh energy, and building an even stronger sense of community.

Cook’s industry background runs generations deep. Her father, Charles, founded ABA Packaging in 1984 alongside his father, Leo Marchese, and today Cook now serves as Vice President of the constantly expanding primary packaging company.

Having grown up around the creativity, hustle, and heart that built the family business, Cook developed a genuine and lasting passion for the industry.

Since joining CIBS in 2017, Cook has become an active and dedicated member. What started as simple networking quickly became something much bigger, a community that helped shape her personally and professionally.

She credits CIBS for introducing her to mentors, role models, lifelong friends, and fellow multi-generational leaders who understand the “beautiful chaos” of keeping a family business thriving.

Some of her most meaningful experiences have come from supporting entrepreneurs launching their own cosmetic lines – echoing the bold leap her father and grandfather once took. For Cook, working with customers and suppliers who once collaborated with her grandparents decades ago is especially rewarding, keeping their values and legacy alive in her daily work.

Cook also steps into this role at a meaningful moment in the organization’s history, becoming both the youngest person to hold the presidency and the first Asian President, reflecting the continued growth and diversity of the CIBS community.

With deep appreciation for the past and an inspiring vision for the future, Liana Cook steps confidently into her role as the 78th President of CIBS, ready to lead the organization into its next chapter.
