In Memoriam: Art Largar, Publisher of Happi (1963– 2026)

Art will be remembered for his spirit, dedication to his family and selflessness.

Arthur (Art) Largar, publisher of Happi, passed away on March 13, 2026, surrounded by family at his home in Delaware. He was 62.

Art will be remembered for his spirit, dedication to his family and selflessness.

Known for his kindness and professionalism, Art was respected and admired across the beauty, personal care, and household care industries. His career in publishing spanned over a quarter of a century, including his tenure at Rodman Media, joining the team in 2002.

As publisher, Art was instrumental in leading the sales team at Happi, and he formed lasting connections with colleagues and customers.

Art was a fighter. As he battled his illness, he continued in his role as publisher, answering calls and emails and providing guidance up to his last days.

James Zilenziger, COO of Rodman Media commented,

“Art was the first person I reported to at Rodman Media when working on business development for Happi. I will always remember him as kind and gentle, and as someone who deeply cared about others. He was an excellent role model at Rodman for the type of compassion we wanted from our employees.”

Outside of the office, Art was a volunteer coach for his children’s baseball, softball, and basketball teams, and a devoted fan and season ticket holder of the New York Giants. He also loved the New York Yankees.

Art was also a man of many talents, starring both on the field (once hitting a home run off a future Major League pitcher) and on the stage (performing in numerous stage productions, talent shows and singing competitions).

Matthew Montgomery, Rodman Media’s Chief Revenue Officer, said,

“Art was a rock for Rodman Media these past 24 years. After joining in 2002, he quickly advanced to the publisher role and led Happi to its best years ever. Art was dedicated, reliable, and always there to help Happi and his team and customers when needed. Above all, he was a good person who cared about the people he worked with. And what a voice … lots of great memories of him singing ‘60s tunes at industry events. He was his happiest whenever he spoke about his wife, Barbara-Ann, and children, Anthony and Amanda. He will be missed.”

Tom Frangis, global sales director for Happi, shared,

“From the first day I joined the Happi team, Art was a true gentleman who put me at ease right away. We formed an instant connection, and he quickly became not only an exceptional mentor but also a dear friend. Though he was a man of few words, everything he said carried meaning and weight. Art left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered—one of the kindest people I have ever known.”

Art is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 36 wonderful years, Barbara-Ann; his two children, Anthony (wife Dallas) and Amanda (wife Gabrielle); his sisters, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and his adored Yorkshire Terrier (Harley). In addition to his parents, Art was predeceased by a sister (Phyllis).

A memorial service will be held in Millsboro, DE on March 28.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in his memory.
