Beiersdorf recently worked with Novelis, a leading sustainable aluminum solutions provider, to further its sustainability journey toward Net Zero.

Novelis specifically helped create Nivea Creme’s well-known blue tin with 80% recycled aluminum. This reduces greenhouse gas emissions, conserves natural resources, and contributes to a more circular economy.

Novelis also released its own sustainability report for fiscal year 2025 (April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025).

The report shares progress toward the company’s vision, Novelis 3×30, to advance aluminum as the material of choice with circular solutions and fulfill its purpose of Shaping a Sustainable World Together.

SVP and Chief Strategy and Sustainability Officer at Novelis, Francisco Pires, said,

“This year’s report demonstrates how we’re aligning our business strategy with circular economy principles. We firmly believe that designing out waste, keeping materials in use and lowering emissions across the value chain delivers long-term value for customers, communities and our planet.”

Novelis achieved a 10% reduction in greenhouse gas intensity in the last fiscal year by implementing new technologies in remelt furnaces to improve efficiency, reducing fuel and energy use, and increasing the use of low-carbon primary aluminum inputs.

The company also recycled over 84 billion used beverage cans and averaged 63% recycled content across all products.

As part of the Novelis 3×30 vision, Novelis aims to accelerate circularity and achieve 75% average recycled content in its products.
