BiotechBeauty, a brand with microbiome-friendly makeup, has launched a highlighter stick collection. The cream formula contains a blend of prebiotics and postbiotics. The beauty stick delivers a luminous, buildable glow improving skin health.

The BiomeBeam highlighter has a balm-like texture that “melts seamlessly into the skin for a smooth, second-skin feel,” the brand states.

In addition to delivering shine, the formula features ingredients that work in synergy to support and strengthen the skin barrier. These ingredients include biomimetic, jellyfish-inspired collagen, fermentation-derived shark-free squalane, ceramides, plant stem cell extracts, and naringenin.

 In clinical testing, BiomeBeam improved the skin barrier function by 112% in just 14 days, BiotechBeauty says.

“Biotech beauty” is a trend, and L’Oréal says biotech-based ingredients have the potential to be a gamechanger for the beauty business.
