CeraVe, known for its skincare products that promote skin health, is focusing on scalp health.

CeraVe introduced a Gentle Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner, as well as an Anti-Dandruff Shampoo and Anti-Dandruff Conditioner, last fall. The hair care collection is sold at Walmart, and includes a 2-in-1 Anti-Dandruff Hydrating Shampoo & Conditioner. The products were developed at L’Oreal’s new R&I Center in NJ.

CeraVe’s Anti-Dandruff system feature breakthrough formulas that claim to eliminate up to 100% of visible flakes, the L’Oreal-owned brand says. The products target ceramide deficiencies in the scalp that can lead to dandruff without disrupting the scalp barrier.  The formulas feature three essential ceramides, identical to those found in the scalp, plus hydrating hyaluronic acid.

Tom Allison, Senior Vice President & Global Head of Professional Sales and Marketing at CeraVe, comments:

“As we looked ahead to the future of CeraVe, we felt that hair and scalp care were a natural progression for the brand. Working hand-in-hand with our dermatologists, we were able to create anti-dandruff formulas with skin-identical ceramides that are not only effective for gently and effectively cleansing and treating dandruff without disrupting the scalp barrier, but also leaves hair feeling healthy and soft.”

More About CeraVe’s New Anti-Dandruff Formula

CeraVe’s new hair care collection, in bottles and tubes, includes an Anti-Dandruff formula that contains the brand’s signature blend of three skin-identical ceramides—EOP, NP, and AP—to help restore the scalp barrier. The pH-balanced, allergy-tested formula treats dandruff to help promote overall scalp health.

Melanie Vidal, Global General Manager at CeraVe, comments:

“Dandruff is among the top 5 reasons people consult a dermatologist, and by combining in-depth research, L’Oréal’s hair expertise, and the knowledge of leading dermatologists, we’ve created inclusive and highly effective formulas that are gentle enough for everyone. We’re excited to be launching CeraVe’s first haircare range, offering healthy hair for all.”

The Anti-Dandruff Shampoo contains 1% Pyrithione Zinc and effectively helps eliminate up to 100% of visible flakes when regularly used as a system with the Anti-Dandruff Conditioner.

When used as a system, CeraVe’s new Anti-Dandruff Shampoo & Conditioner gently, yet effectively, removes buildup without stripping essential moisture, leaving hair soft and manageable.

The shampoo and conditioner are suitable for all hair types, curl patterns, color-treated hair, and those with sensitive scalps. The products are free of sulfates, MIT, dyes, parabens, and fragrance.
