Glossier has laid off almost a third of its staff, over 50 employees, in major reorganization efforts.

The decision was made as Glossier enters a new “leadership chapter,” which is being led by recently appointed CEO Colin Walsh.

Glossier said it was being “reshaped” to improve agility and help it become a brand leader again.

In recent years, the brand has struggled with greater competition from newer beauty brands and has failed to keep up with changing consumer habits.

These new changes are aimed at improving brand growth.

Glossier cut 80 staff from its corporate office in 2022, which was around a third of its workforce at the time.

The company then cut 24 jobs following its strategy pivot from direct-to-consumer to omnichannel later that year.

Colin Walsh, who joined the company from P&G’s Specialty Beauty Division, where he oversaw hair brand Ouai in September of 2025.
