Harry’s, the men’s grooming brand still independently owned by its original founders, has launched its most advanced razor, to date.

The new Harry’s Plus Razor features an Advanced Pivoting System for superior contouring and comfort. The ad campaign stars the brand’s founders, Jeff Raider and Andy Katz-Mayfield.

Harry’s Inc. debuted a new company name, Mammoth brands, earlier this month to reflect its growing portfolio. Raider and Katz-Mayfield are Mammoth’s co-founders and co-CEOs. See more about this growing personal care company below.

More About the Harry’s Plus Razor

Harry’s new razor, Harry’s Plus, is a design that’s now possible for the company to manufacture due to a competitor’s expired patent, the campaign video explains.

The razor has a premium, weighted silver metal handle with a matte finish. It features a one-blade cartridge with the brand’s 5-blade technology for a smooth shave.

The razor’s advanced pivoting system glides smoothly across every facial curve. It also has a precision trimmer and an aloe-based lubricating strip. The compact cartridge system comes with a travel cover for protection.

The New Campaign for Harry’s Plus

The video spot for the new Harry’s Plus Razor stars its founders, Raider and Katz-Mayfield—and it hilariously answers every question consumers may have about the new razor design.

In one part of the video a narrator says if the new design is so good, why didn’t they launch it first? The answer—Gillette’s patent expired.

More About Mammoth Brands

Harry’s is now a part of Mammoth Brands, which is owned by Harry’s founders, Raider and Katz-Mayfield. The founders launched Harry’s in 2013 as a DTC brand, and expanded into retailers in 2016.

Mammoth now owns Lume, Flamingo, and Mando, in addition to Harry’s.

Before establishing Mammoth, Harry’s founders announced that Edgewell Personal Care was going to acquire the company for $1.37 billion in 2019. Edgewell abandoned the deal in February 2020 when the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) sued to block it. Edgewell owns Schick and Wilkinson Sword razor brands.

The FTC stated, “The loss of Harry’s as an independent competitor would remove a critical disruptive rival that has driven down prices and spurred innovation in an industry that was previously dominated by two main suppliers, one of whom is the acquirer.”
