Neutrogena’s parent company, Kenvue, has issued a recall of select Neutrogena Makeup Remover Wipes.

The FDA just issued a Class II risk level to over 1,000 units of the wipes due to possible bacterial contamination.

The wipes were recalled after testing positive for Pluralibacter gergoviae during an internal investigation.

Pluralibacter gergoviae is a bacterium that is a known contaminant in cosmetics due to its resistance to popular preservatives.

Neutrogena Makeup Remover Ultra-Soft Cleansing Towelettes, specifically the 50-count, 2×25 compostable packs, were affected.

1,312 cases of Neutrogena towelettes are being recalled across four states: Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Texas.

The impacted products have a lot number of 1835U6325A.

If you have one of the packages being recalled, you should stop using the makeup wipes immediately.

Neutrogena has provided a request form on its website for anyone who would like to be reimbursed for the recalled products.
