Shiseido Appoints Kentaro Fujiwara CEO

Kentaro Fujiwara follows the retirement of Masahiko Uotani.

Shiseido has promoted Kentaro Fujiwara to director, representative corporate executive officer, president, and CEO. He will resume his position on January 1, 2025, following the retirement of Masahiko Uotani.
 
Fujiwara currently serves as director, representative corporate executive officer, president, and COO.
 
Upon request of the management team, Uotani will serve as senior advisor for Shiseido in January. According to the company, he will “provide advice, support talent development, engage in external relations, etc.”
 
In the initial announcement of Uotani’s retirement, he intended to retire at the end of 2024. 
 
At the end of March, Uotani will be retiring as a director of Shiseido at the conclusion of the ordinary general meeting of shareholders
 
Fujiwara was named a CEO candidate in 2022, and his appointment is a part of the company’s five-year CEO succession plan.
