Exciting changes are in store at Supergoop! Melis del Rey, Supergoop’s new CEO, will join the brand and its board of directors on December 8, 2025. She brings more than two decades of experience in the global beauty and consumer products industry.

Del Rey is replacing Gregory Polcer. Polcer has served as Interim CEO since May 2025, and will remain on Supergoop’s board.

There have been several leadership changes over the years at Supergoop, the category-defining suncare brand founded by Holly Thaggard that is known for its skincare-like formulas. Beauty Industry Veteran Lisa Sequino left JLo Beauty in 2024 to replace Amanda Baldwin as CEO. The brand also received an investment from the Blackstone Group in 2021.

Supergoop states in a press release that del Rey is “widely recognized for her expertise in brand building, beauty technology innovation, and scaling businesses with strong retail partnerships to unlock shared growth.”

Melis del Rey comments, “Supergoop’s commitment to innovation, education, and joyful sun protection has already transformed how people think about SPF. I’m thrilled to help accelerate that momentum — expanding our impact, deepening consumer connection, and bringing Supergoop!’s mission into more routines around the world.”

Supergoop Aims for Growth

Supergoop is looking forward to its next era of growth with del Rey at the helm.

“Melis has an innovative approach to brand building and deep expertise across beauty, e-commerce, and omnichannel strategy,” states Edgar Huber, Chairman of the Board at Supergoop. “She is a dynamic and visionary leader with a proven track record of building global brands, strengthening retail partnerships, and delivering exceptional consumer experiences.”
