On May 7-8, the sun shone on New York City’s colossal Javits Center, as cosmetic industry buyers and more than 200 exhibitors gathered at the annual B2B Luxe Pack New York (LPNY) event to network, match brand-supplier needs, exchange information, and participate in a vibrant educational program. Show organizers reported a record-breaking 5,400 attendees.

From primary and secondary packaging, to formulation and dispensing, to evolving tariffs and trend forecasting, the show floor bustled with excitement over the entire two days. This year’s edition featured more than 40 new packaging experts.

Sustainable packaging and CSA awards were determined for suppliers who had submitted products to the popular competition beforehand.

Show Floor Talk

As has become the norm over the last few months, tariffs were an overriding topic of conversation and a cause for industry uncertainty on both brand and supplier sides. Some manufacturers have already redirected their supply chains, while others are in the process. Several touted their Made in USA status. Others noted that MOQ’s have been lower, while inventories fill in for distribution.

Notable Trends

Every industry show seems to display its own prominent, current trends, while sustainable packaging remains an overall umbrella category. At LPNY, paper packaging made more of a packaging statement with products from sachets to bottles, and gorgeous papers for cartons to mailers. (For more on innovative cartons, please see the article in our June 2025 issue, “Secondary Packaging, with Primary Appeal.”) Examples of eye-catching decorative effects including foils and images added to the allure.

The trend toward glass as an alternative to plastics, noted by some suppliers as “glassification,” stood out as a leading concept at several stands, along with lightweighted glass, glass caps, and glass refillable jars and bottles. Some of these items had also been designed as second-use “keepsakes.”

Highly decorated tubes, using new techniques, appeared sans seams, for continuous branding opportunities. “Super-sized” tubes and bottles, particularly for hair care and body care, also seemed to have a larger presence amid skincare, makeup, and fragrance. Luxe fragrance packaging maintained its current burgeoning interest, while small charms and novelties also picked up speed. Bio-materials have also gained an increased presence in the marketplace.

The trend toward fusing luxe and premium packaging with sustainable assets is now pretty much a given.

“Luxe Pack New York is more than a packaging trade show—it’s where the future of premium packaging takes shape,” said Fabienne Germond, Global Director at Luxe Pack. “We’re excited to welcome the industry’s leading creative minds to an environment where innovation meets business opportunity.”

In general, the exhibitors we spoke with all reported that this year’s LPNY was a great industry event, with orders taken from both Indie and global brands.

Up Close with Exhibitors

Following is a rundown of suppliers and highlights we spotted on the show floor. Companies are arranged in alphabetical order:

ABA Packaging

ABA Packaging’s Sage system, a mono-material airless system, ensures flow control, viscosity versatility, and drop-by-drop precision—ideal for challenging actives and preservative-reduced formulas.

In addition to a wide variety of packaging—metals, glass, and more—ABA Packaging presented its newly available airless systems. Sage and Aspen are sleek, mono-material airless systems made entirely from recyclable polyethylene (with a bio-based option, too). Designed for lotions, creams, and vitamin C treatments, these systems feature a smooth piston design that prevents clogs and protects delicate formulas.

Eco-conscious, efficient, and easy to use—Sage and Aspen are the ideal match for modern skincare.

Albéa Cosmetics & Fragrance

One of the lines Albéa Cosmetics & Fragrance featured at LPNY was its North America collection, including sustainable packaging options for lipsticks, mascaras, jars, and more.

Albéa Cosmetics & Fragrance showcased its ‘North America’ collection.

This NA Collection can be produced in Albéa Matamoros, the Mexican “center of excellence” for mascara, lip gloss, and lipstick packaging. This local manufacturing capability allows Albéa to serve the American market “with greater efficiency, providing faster delivery times, reduced transportation emissions, and more sustainable supply chain practices.”

Albéa Tubes also highlighted its Queretaro plant in Mexico, where the Metamorphosis paper-based cosmetic tube, paired with the EcoFusion Top are manufactured. This eco-designed solution offers up to 50% paper, providing brands with an 80% weight reduction compared to standard heads and caps. Some of the lightest caps on the market were also shown at the booth.

Anomatic

“Eco-alloy” was the name of the game at Anomatic, where Eric Leray, Vice President of Sales, told us about several eco-alloy product offerings. High-Recycled Content (HRC) is a 41% reduction from the industry standard; Low GHG High Pure material is a 61% reduction from the industry standard; and Evercycle material is an 89% reduction from the standard. Anomatic operates 3 glass plants in Ohio, and has worked with several glass suppliers, providing aluminum caps for glass jars and lipsticks.

One item that drew attention was the sustainable, airless glass Astrea bottle, which boasted a transparent design; excellent formula compatibility and high impermeability; airless benefits: formula protection; high evacuation rate, 360° dispensing; a low carbon footprint vs molded glass bottle with dispenser; a piston made of PE; and robust form with high wall thickness and stabilizing. The Nomad Refill was presented as the first purse spray that’s refillable in less than 5 seconds, directly from a fragrance bottle.

With a focus on seamless user experience and precise application, Bondi’s patent-pending design ensures a controlled, uninterrupted flow, “setting a new benchmark in beauty and skincare packaging.” Bondi features an “advanced vented nozzle that provides smooth and effortless dispensing,” which prevents airlock disruptions, ensuring a continuous and steady stream. The cap is crafted from PET & PP/Elastomer, and the bottle is available in standard PET or customizable glass.

Metallic shades can also be applied with the Inside technique, as well as through surface metallization. Also featured was the “sputtering” technique, as well as a selection of iconic launches including Devotion from Dolce & Gabbana, Trussardi, Burberry Goddess, and Armani Privé.
