Amid constant growth in the cosmetics industry, the topic of imposed and impending tariffs has come to dominate conversations in North America and throughout the world. In an industry known for constant packaging and product innovation, no one wants to stall and re-evaluate the unknown economic side of taxes and shipping costs.

One of our special features in this issue, “All Eyes on ‘Made in North America’ Manufacturing,” focuses on some of the leading packaging suppliers in North America that have been taking, or have taken the domestic route over the past decade or so.  Some have been “all-American” from the start, while others have based business plans on evolving global trends.

There’s nothing like hearing from others in similar positions to evaluate a new or existing approach to improving supply chains, cutting costs, and producing the highest-quality products.

In another look at the current pipeline, we also reached out to Manish Kapoor, Founder and CEO of Growth Catalyst Group. His thoughts are captured at BeautyPackaging.com, where he advises on steady supply chains and best strategies for staying nimble during unsettled times.

Kapoor’s research values the cosmetic packaging market in North America at about $6.85 billion (2025), with projections to reach $8.29 billion by 2030 (Mordor Intelligence). He notes that while this kind of growth signals many opportunities, it also comes with risks—especially when tariffs are putting pressure on pricing for beauty brands, their packaging partners, and customers.

For US-based suppliers, tariffs on imported components can drive costs up to 25%, says Kapoor, adding, “In the long run, that’s not sustainable, but neither is relying solely on domestic sourcing and related costs.” He says, “The best strategy is diversification.” Read more about his thoughts on hybrid supply models at BeautyPackaging.com.

Also in this issue (and at BeautyPackaging.com), you’ll learn about some of the latest innovations and trends at the once-again lively MakeUp in Paris show at the Carrousel du Louvre, and what to anticipate at MakeUp in NewYork and Luxe Pack Monaco in September. You’ll also hear more about Cosmoprof Las Vegas (which we just returned from at press time) and Beautyworld Middle East (which will take place October 27–29 in Dubai).

I hope to see you at these upcoming events—in North America and internationally!

Have a great summer!
